Home is Where The Ocean Is

Hello Everyone,

I've been dying to share my MDF Steering Wheel with you as I love how this turned out.

I coated the wheel in white Dutch Doobadoo gesso first and then added Dutch Doobadoo black gesso.I then gave it a light sanding so that some of the white came through.  I then added crackle paste and after it had tried applied a very light brushing of white gesso again.  This gave my ship's wheel an aged effect.  Love it :)

I wanted to keep this as much black, white and cream as possible as it's going into my downstairs toilet so it will match perfectly.

I used elements from the Dutch Doobadoo Paper Art Nautical.  I also used the anchor die cut and added pearls and a nautical button from Live and Love crafts.

I used both the All At Sea Sentiment Set and the Image stamps for the centre.  These were stamped onto paper from the All At Sea Paper pad.

The nautical buttom fitted perfectly into the Buoy diecut, some cheesecloth, pearls and shells to finish it off.

I've really enjoyed playing with the sea collection and I hope you like it too :)

Very cool and grungy; it looks gorgeous with the crackled effect. Hehe...and now I see what you needed the seahorse charm for; very cute, isn't it?!
